Hello Everyone! My name is Sidrah and I am
a blogger over at MakeupMew.com and I am a huge penny pincher! When it comes
to makeup, sure we can all splurge but getting something amazing at a cheap price
is gold.
Today I am going to be reviewing the ELF
Kabuki Face Brush. I have been loving the ELF Studio Brush set, I’ve had that
set for about a year now and they are still in amazing condition. I can never
go with using those brushes. So after a while I decided to purchase a kabuki
brush, since I can never go a day without using a setting powder or even
mineral makeup because of my oily skin. A kabuki brush is ideal for packing on
a lot of powder and buffing it into your skin. When you buff product into your
skin you are getting a better coverage and a flawless finish, instead of
dusting powder on your face which can make you look cakey.
The ELF Kabuki Face Brush is pretty dense and has tons of bristles. It’s a great size too, not too big or small, you can even use this to apply a bit of bronzer and contour to your cheekbones and neck area if desired. The brush is made out of synthetic taklon which makes the brush vegan friendly. I always avoid using animal hair brushes because they take a lot longer to dry and also end up eating most of the product.

The bristles have a dome shape to them
which makes it easier to pick up product with, the bristles are soft but they
can be a bit more flexible.
What I didn’t like…
What I didn’t like…
The shedding! The brush never
sheds when I wash it but when I start buffingproduct into my face long strands
of brush hair ends up on parts of my face which is soo annoying. Its not a huge
amount of shedding but one can get annoyed of the bristles everywhere.
ELF also carries a Body Kabuki Brush which
has loner bristles, which would be great for applying product on large parts of
your body. You can check out ELF on their website http://www.eyeslipsface.com/ Price: $6.00.
Thank you Sidrah so much for the wonderful
review, I love ELF products and I’ve never tried their face kabuki brush, so I am
very interested in testing it out!

I don't like a brush that sheds :(

Hi Lauren, I agree I don't like brushes that shed, but this one looks very promising I think I might be able to withstand a little shedding.
DeleteI am so happy with the other elf brushes i got, i am looking at this everytime in the online shop, but never get it :)...next time i'll just order
ReplyDeleteJanine
Hi Janine, I am planning on picking it up as well. Let me know how you like it!
DeleteI haven't tried this brush from ELF but have several eye brushes and pretty happy with them. I would be so annoyed with the shedding of brushes.

Thanks for following me girly! I will be sure to check out your blog. As for the shedding I agree if it's too much I don't suggest it, but a little shedding i can live with if the brush is FAB overall.
DeleteYou had me until the shedding part. I need new make up brushes like yesterday. I have sensitive skin and I need something for daily use. Any recs?
ReplyDeleteHi Dr. Regina, if you're willing to spend a little bit more than the ELF brushes, I would highly recommend any of the Eco Tools Brushes, they are very gentle on the face; the ones I've tried don't shed and they are Eco friendly! I particularly love their Foundation Brush which is around $7.99.
DeleteThis looks like a great brush to have
ReplyDeleteIt looks pretty also, doesn't it? =)
DeleteI bought this awhile ago when they had 1 of their many sales. I wasn't a big fan, so I gave it to mother. But in my opinion its cool for applying blush.
ReplyDeletePs. I like their other makeup brushes (eyeshadow, blush etc).
Hi Ashley, I love many of their other brushes as well, i own so many I think I lost count!!
Deleteive had this forever love it.
ReplyDeleteHi Jessica, that's great, I'm going to see if you have a review on it as well!
DeleteI have this and I haven't noticed shedding tbh. It is sooooo soft! :)

Hi girly! Some brushes are like that, the luck of the draw, some of the same kind/brand might shed and others might not.
