Back in January, I purchased tickets to attend an event by an awesome site called Shecky's, the event is called Girls Night Out, which was located in San Francisco CA. Normally tickets run for $30, which includes a goodie bag, but I was able to purchase them for a limited time discounted price of $12 each (although I believe they were $9 at one point too).
What is Girls Night Out? On the Shecky’s site, they offered quite an interesting description along with a ton of past fabulous pictures, which completely enticed me to purchase tickets for my girlfriends and I. Girls Night Out is offered throughout the US, in many major cities, such as San Francisco, New York, Philadelphia, Boston, Miami, Phoenix and many more cities around the US. Here's what Shecky's had to say about the event:
The event was located in a big Pier (arena/area) which had a lot of fashion and accessory vendors selling their products, most of which were for a “discounted” price (20-60% off retail price). A lot of the accessories and jewelry looked very beautiful and truly amazing,a lot of products were very stylish and definitely unique, however some accessories looked sort of homemade and definitely not worth the price they were charging. So what my girlfriends and I did was walk around throughout the entire area to scope out items and prices then went back to vendors we loved and felt were reasonably priced!
As far as a night of pampering….there were no booths or section that offered a lot of "pampering" (in my opinion); I assumed we would be able to get our nails done, or get a little massage, the closest thing to pampering was a booth that offered “quick hair trim/quick bang trim,” which was supposed to be free – but everyone was “tipping” them $10-$15 each, so opted out. They also had a section where you can learn to mix alcoholic drinks, the line was so long that I passed that up (there were hundreds of women at this event, it got to the point where everyone was bumping into one another). Maybelline actually had a section where they did makeovers….but apparently you had to sign up ahead of time so many of us weren’t able to experience that.
Best part of the event? Spending time with my girlfriends, this is so important because we’re all busy, we all have our own lives, and our jobs, and spending a few hours together without any worries is worth it enough for me. In addition we did get a goodie bag which had some good full size products (Nivea Lip Balm retails for $2.99, ImPress Press on Nails retails for $6.99, Rohto Eye Drops retails for $7.50, and SoftLips Chapstick 3 pack retails for $8.99, along with some sample packets).
In the picture below of my goodie bag contents, you will see many duplicate products, but that's because my girlfriends gave me products they knew they weren't going to use.
I also loved the fact that it was in the beautiful city of San Francisco, the event was held in Herbst Pavilion/Cowell Theater which is basically on a pier on water, when the sun set it was simply beautiful, plus the weather was so nice, let's just say the location was perfect for a Girls Night Out!
My Final thoughts: If you love buying fashion and accessories from small boutiques and small online retailers then this is the event for you, simply because you’ll find items that you will not find anywhere else! If you just want to spend an evening with your girlfriends, this is also the event for you but one suggestion I can offer is to wait until the tickets are discounted so join the shecky's site so you can get notifications when the next event is offered and when the tickets go on sale!

I was actually a reporter for Shecky's for the night, which I was super excited and honored about! I got to interview some of the vendors, so if you'd like to see more pictures that I took of the event and vendor information click here which will take you to my Spotted Section in the Shecky's site.
Did you attend this event, or at any other locations around the US? Have you ever attended an event like this one before, and what did you think about it? Do you know of any other event, either fashion or beauty related I'd love to check out different ones!
