THE CLASSIC: Ponds Dry Skin Cream

Quite possibly the best face cream for dry skin and for those winter months would have to be Ponds Dry Skin Cream.  Ponds has been a well known household name for many centuries, in fact Ponds Cream was invented in 1846, that is about 166 years ago!
As a child I remember touching my mother's face because it was so smooth, and I also remember a very light scent coming from her face, which I absolutely adored.  Now that I am an adult I simply cannot live without this cream!

Ponds describes the cream as "a simple but effective cream {that} delivers deep moisture for radiant skin." That is absolutely what the cream does; during the winter months, my skin tends to have dry spots, particularly my chin, around my nose, as well as around my lips and the only thing that has made winter more bearable for my skin year after year is the Ponds Dy Skin Cream. What I love about this cream is that it is hypoallergenic, which means that it will not clog your pores, it has also been dermatologist tested, and is ideal for dry and sensitive skin. Even if you have combination skin, with a few dry spots here and there I would still highly suggest this cream, to help relieve those dry spots!

The cream itself it a very rich and thick product, which means a little does go a long way.  Once applied on the face, it moisturizes immediately, it is not greasy at all, and it just simply feels very hydrating -- the best way to describe it is imagine your skin being thirsty and you just gave it some water! I use just a small bit of product in the mornings before applying my foundation, but apply a bit more at night time, for a more deep over night hydration.  I love doing this because in the morning, my face feels super soft, very smooth, and actually quite flawless! Since a little does go a long way, it will feel greasy and oily if too much is applied, therefore apply a little bit at a time and keep adding on if needed.

The Ponds Dry Skin Cream does come in several sizes, from 3.9 oz to 10.1 oz, with prices ranging from $3.99 to $8.99. This cream can be purchased at practically any drugstore such as Walgreen's, Rite Aid, Walmart, etc. I highly recommend this product to anyone who has some sort of dry spots on their face; this product is simply amazing, I will continue to use this for many more centuries to come, it is a must in my skincare routine particularly for those harsh winter months!
Have you tried this cream, or any other Ponds products?

  1. Great review! I've been looking for a new moisturizer to replace the one I've been using. Currently I use Alba Green Tea and Aloe moisturizer. It's $18 for a tub of it, but I am far from impressed. It really doesn't seem to do all that much for my skin. I've almost used the whole thing now,(I hate wasting products!) so, I'll definitely pick this one up next time I go to the store.

  2. great review, thanks for that! i've heard so much about this moisturizer and it was nice to read a personal review. i just discovered your makeup blog and i really enjoy reading it. please check out mine too when you have a moment :)

  3. I use Nivea creme religiously but after reading this I might give ponds a go... I need something that's thick and hydrating but a bit less greasy.

  4. I believe you!! I have been using a Pond's cream for a few months now daily and I'm hooked. It has the perfect amount of moisture without breaking my skin out. great review!

  5. I have been using this for years and years and years! And not just in winter but all year long! I feel like maybe I should have a different moisturizer, but it just does such good work! So glad you highlighted it today:)

  6. I have always wanted to try this! Now Im gonna!

  7. Great review! I'll definitely be checking this cream out! :)
