The Clarisonic Skin Cleansing System is a 2-spreed product that claims to improve skin tone and also claims to reduce the appearance of enlarged pores; while removing dirt and oil from your face. The product itself retails for $195 which can be purchased at http://www.clarisonic.com.
A lot of people say that the Olay Pro-X Advanced Cleansing System is a dupe for the Clarisonic System, basically it has the same concept; 2-speed facial cleansing brush that helps easily remove dirt from your pores. It retails for around $30 at drugstores like Walmart, Walgreens, etc.
We can’t all afford $195 on a cleansing system, so before spending $30 on the Olay System I encourage all of you to try something a little bit less expensive! I’ve found a cheaper alternative that works the exact same way; it is the Sephora Collection Face Complexion Brush, which retails for $5.
The Sephora site describes the product as “the professional's choice for cleansing the face and neck. Gently exfoliates dead skin cells, leaving face fresh, clean, and soft. Gently massages and invigorates skin.” The product can be purchased online at http://www.sephora.com or in a Sephora store.
The obvious difference in this product is that it is manual, so it doesn't move as quickly, however it pretty much has the same effect. The bristles are gentle enough for even the most sensitive skin, yet dense enough to remove oil, dirt, and makeup deep into your pores. The Sephora Complexion Brush is very travel friendly because of its petite size; the brush itself is a little over 5 inches in length, the brush head is about 1 inch long, and ½ an inch in height.
Step 1: Wet your face with lukewarm water
Step 2: Drop a quarter size of your favorite facial cleanser on your hands and gently massage your face until you reach a soapy lather
Step 3: Wet the Sephora Complexion Brush and gently do circular motions all over your face for about 60 seconds.
Step 4: Rise face with lukewarm water
Step 5: Pat dry your face
My experience with the Sephora Complexion Brush has been astonishing! My skin feels very clean immediately after using this; I can really feel that all the dead skin cells and dirt is being lifted from my face while using the brush. In addition, my pores have drastically minimized over time, and overall my face feels very soft and smooth.
Tip: Remove your makeup prior to completing step 1 with a makeup remover wipe, for a quicker and less messy cleansing experience.
Tip: Using a gel/liquid cleanser (vs a creame cleanser) to build up more lather.
Tip: Focus more on areas such as the nose, cheeks, or wherever you may have enlarged pores/oily spots.
Tip: Use 1-2 times a week, your skins needs time to recover so don’t over scrub your face otherwise you might break out.
Exfoliating is very important because it allows you to get rid of dead skin cells which can make your skin feel and look very dull! Therefore I highly recommend this product to anyone who is on a budget, it works very similar to the Clarisonic & the Olay system so why not save over 75%?
Have you tried this Complexion Brush before, what are your thoughts?
